Yes, London is definitely worth visiting. The city offers a unique combination of culture, history, world-famous attractions, and an international atmosphere that you won’t experience anywhere else in Europe in quite the same way.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I have visited London several times over the past 15 years, and every time I discover something new. That’s mainly because London is such a vast city that you simply can’t explore it all during a city trip of just a few days. During my first visits, I usually stayed for three or four days and focused on the most famous attractions, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On my later visits, I spent more time exploring different neighborhoods, parks, and markets. During my most recent visit, in May 2025, I also took a day trip to Windsor Castle<\/a>. I have also visited London several times during the Christmas season<\/a>. The city is beautifully decorated at that time, and in my opinion, the Christmas Lights Tour<\/a> is highly recommended.<\/p>\n

My conclusion:<\/strong> London is absolutely worth visiting. Just keep in mind that it is a large city. If you want to see more than just the most famous attractions, good planning is essential. Don’t try to do everything on foot\u2014make use of the Underground instead. How many days you need for a city trip to London depends on what you want to see and do. London is a large city with attractions spread across different neighborhoods. As a result, you’ll spend more time traveling between sights than in many other European cities.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For a first visit, I recommend staying for at least three to four days<\/strong>. That gives you enough time to visit the most famous attractions, explore different neighborhoods, and experience the city without having an overly packed schedule.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If you only have two days, it’s best to focus on the main highlights, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and the London Eye. This way, you won’t have to spend all your time traveling across the city.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If you’re staying for five days or longer<\/strong>, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore lesser-known neighborhoods, visit several museums, or take a day trip. Popular destinations include Windsor Castle, Greenwich, and the Harry Potter Studio Tour.<\/p>\n

Personally, I think four days<\/strong> is the ideal length for a first city trip to London. It gives you enough time to visit the main attractions, relax in a park or browse a market now and then, and still have time to enjoy a musical or visit a traditional pub in the evening.<\/p>\n

The bus is not always the fastest option, but you’ll see much more of London along the way than when traveling underground.
